Customs commences 3 day training on VREG

The Tin Can Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has commenced a three day training for stakeholders in the industry on the National Vehicle Registration (VREG), towards strengthening the importance inherent in Users Acceptance Test( UAT).

The VREG pilot training which commenced on Tuesday September 28, 2021 will end on Thursday 30 September at NCS Kirikiri Light Terminal command .

In a release dated 27th September 2021, signed by the Public Relations Officers,Tin Can Island Command of NCS, Uche Ejesieme, stressed that the training exercise would be conducted alongside the deployment of critical stakeholders in two batches.

Expected at the training programme are at least ten individuals from each of the invited freight forwarding associations

VREG, a national repository of vehicular information that seeks to provide a singular platform through which all relevant agencies shall reference vehicular data with a view to ascertaining ownership and value information, capturing vehicular exchanges and utilising the VIN of all vehicles in Nigeria.

The scheme was flagged off by the Minister of Finance Zainab Ahmed, not long ago

It’s expected that additional value is also accruable to the federal government, state governments and related agencies via this policy.
