Avoseh celebrates three new lawyers, says Ipokia youths are excelling beyond border trade

The Executive Chairman of Ipokia Local Government, Hon. Akohomeh Johnson Avoseh, has congratulated three indigenes of the council area on their successful Call to the Nigerian Bar, describing their achievement as further evidence that the youths of Ipokia are excelling in education and professional careers, contrary to the long-held stereotype that border communities are defined by smuggling activities.

The chairman said the admission of Misigbeto Lawrence Apari Esq., Sulaimon Nafiu Olabisi Esq., and Oluwatimilehin Peter Egunsola Esq. as Barristers and Solicitors of the Supreme Court of Nigeria reinforces the growing reputation of Ipokia as a community that continues to produce accomplished professionals who are contributing meaningfully to national development.

In a congratulatory message issued on behalf of the government and people of Ipokia Local Government, Avoseh described the new lawyers’ achievement as a product of hard work, discipline, resilience and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

He noted that their admission into the legal profession adds to the increasing number of lawyers and other professionals emerging from the border council, a development he said reflects the enormous human capital resident in Ipokia.

According to the chairman, the latest success further validates his longstanding position that the overwhelming majority of young people in Ipokia are hardworking, law-abiding and making positive impacts in various sectors despite persistent attempts by some to portray the local government solely through the prism of cross-border smuggling.

Avoseh has repeatedly maintained that while the council shares an international boundary with the Republic of Benin, its youths are distinguishing themselves in law, medicine, engineering, public service, business, entrepreneurship and other professions, insisting that their achievements deserve greater recognition than the negative narratives often associated with border communities.

He said the emergence of three new legal practitioners within the same period demonstrates that Ipokia is steadily establishing itself as a breeding ground for outstanding intellectuals and professionals whose contributions are enhancing the image of the local government and Ogun State.

The council boss urged the new lawyers to uphold the ethics of the legal profession by discharging their duties with integrity, honour, wisdom and an unwavering commitment to justice and the rule of law.

He expressed confidence that they would deploy their knowledge and advocacy in promoting good governance, protecting the rights of citizens and advancing national development.

While wishing them successful legal careers, Avoseh assured that the local government would continue to invest in initiatives that encourage education, youth development and human capital growth, saying the achievements of the newly called lawyers should inspire other young people in Ipokia to pursue legitimate careers and strive for excellence.

The recognition of the three legal practitioners, observers say, further reinforces the chairman’s consistent message that Ipokia should be celebrated not for the activities of a few lawbreakers, but for its growing number of accomplished sons and daughters who continue to distinguish themselves across diverse professions.
