The Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN) has announced, with deep sorrow, the passing of Comrade Chris Eromosele Idagbonre, a former Vice President-General of the Union, who died after a brief illness.

His death marks the loss of a dedicated trade unionist and a steadfast advocate of workers’ welfare

Comrade Idagbonre served the Union meritoriously for over 25 years and retired gloriously in 2025 after an illustrious career.

He began his trade union journey at the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Lagos, under the NPA Branch of MWUN, where he distinguished himself with an unblemished record of service, rising through the ranks to become Vice President-General of the Union.
