Idimogu advocates peace, tolerance as Easter inspires renewal

Former member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Jude Chukwuemeka Omobowale Idimogu, has called on Christians to embrace love, unity, and tolerance as they celebrate Easter, describing these virtues as the true essence of the season.

In his Easter message, Idimogu who is also a Knight of  Saint Molumba(KSM) in the Roman Catholic Church rejoiced with the Christian faithful on the commemoration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, noting that the celebration goes beyond festivity and calls for deep reflection on faith, sacrifice, and the collective good of society.

In a release signed by Henry Uzodimma, his Media Assistant, Hon Idimogu said:

“With profound enthusiasm, I convey my heartfelt congratulations to all our Christian brothers and sisters as we celebrate Easter in remembrance of the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ,” he said.

He emphasised that the central message of Easter lies in selfless love and total devotion to God, whom he described as the author and finisher of faith, whose sacrifice on the cross brought redemption to humanity.

According to him, the season presents an opportunity for Nigerians to look inward and recommit to values that promote peaceful coexistence and national growth.

“We must seize this opportunity to reflect deeply on what more we can do to ensure peace, love, and unity among ourselves. There can be no meaningful development in an atmosphere of rancour and acrimony,” Idimogu stated.

The former lawmaker further urged citizens to prioritise tolerance and mutual understanding, stressing that only through unity can the nation achieve sustainable development and lasting harmony.

He concluded by encouraging Christians to let the lessons of Easter guide their daily lives, fostering a society anchored on love, peace, and shared prosperity.
