The Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency(NIMASA) Dr. Dayo Mobereola, has called on Christians across Nigeria to embrace love, sacrifice, and patriotism as they celebrate Easter, urging a renewed commitment to both spiritual growth and national development.

In his Easter message, Mobereola described the season as more than a celebration, noting that it represents a profound moment for reflection on the core ideals of Christianity: faith, sacrifice, hope, and renewal.

The DG stated, “Easter offers us a sacred opportunity to reflect on the ideals of our faith and recommit ourselves to personal and spiritual renewal.”

He noted that the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ remain powerful symbols of hope and redemption, reminding believers that resilience and faith can overcome even the darkest moments.

“The sacrifice of Christ teaches us that through faith, discipline, and selflessness, we can overcome challenges and build a more purposeful life,” Mobereola added.

Harping on Faith as a Foundation for Nation-Building, the NIMASA boss emphasised that the virtues of Easter which includes love, compassion, empathy, and discipline are not only spiritual principles but also essential ingredients for national growth and stability.

According to him, these values form the bedrock of patriotism, which is critical to building a united and prosperous nation.

“The values embodied by Jesus Christ inspire patriotism, and patriotism remains at the root of the growth and development of any nation,” he stated.

He urged Nigerians to translate their faith into action by contributing positively to society, fostering unity, and supporting efforts aimed at national transformation.

Mobereola further highlighted the role of the maritime sector in Nigeria’s economic advancement, noting that commitment, discipline, and collaboration are values synonymous with Easter and are also key to sustaining growth within the industry.

Under his leadership, NIMASA has continued to push reforms aimed at enhancing maritime safety, boosting regulatory efficiency, and promoting Nigeria’s blue economy potential efforts that align with broader national aspirations for economic diversification.

While extending goodwill to Christians, the NIMASA DG urged all Nigerians, regardless of faith, to imbibe the lessons of Easter and work collectively towards building a safer, more secure, and prosperous nation.

In essence, Mobereola’s Easter message transcends festivity; it is a call to action.

A reminder that the true meaning of Easter lies not only in remembrance, but in renewal of purpose, dedication to service, and commitment to building a nation where love, sacrifice, and patriotism are lived values, not mere ideals.
