By Ezurike Ugochukwu

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2026 Osun State election, Asiwaju Murinudeen Oyebamiji, has declared that victory is within reach for the party following the inauguration of the APC National Campaign Council ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

Speaking after the inauguration ceremony held in Abuja, Oyebamiji described the calibre of party leaders assembled for the campaign council as a clear indication of the APC’s determination to reclaim Osun State and restore what he called progressive governance to the state.

The APC candidate expressed profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National Working Committee of the party and members of the National Campaign Council for the confidence reposed in his candidacy and the party’s Prosperity Agenda.

According to him, the support of the party leadership has strengthened the resolve of the campaign to intensify grassroots mobilisation and deliver victory at the polls.

“The inauguration of the National Campaign Council is more than a political ceremony. It is a strong affirmation that our party is united, prepared and determined to win the governorship election. Victory is within reach, and we remain committed to campaigning with dignity, humility and respect for democratic principles,” he said.

Oyebamiji noted that over the past several months, his campaign had traversed communities across Osun State, engaging traditional rulers, youths, women, artisans, professionals, students, market associations, religious organisations and other critical stakeholders.

He said the interactions with residents across the state had convinced the campaign that Osun people were yearning for responsible leadership, economic prosperity and people-centred governance.
