Train 7 Momentum: NLNG bags prestigious Operational Excellence Award, extending winning streak

Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) has added another major industry honour to its growing list of accolades, winning the Operational Excellence Award at the Energy Awards 2026 during the 25th edition of the Nigeria Oil and Gas (NOG) Energy Week.

This further reinforces the organisation’s reputation for world-class operational standards as it advances the landmark Train 7 Project.

The latest recognition extends NLNG’s impressive winning streak and underscores the company’s sustained commitment to operational efficiency, safety, reliability and innovation, which have positioned it among Africa’s leading liquefied natural gas producers.

The award, presented at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja, recognises organisations that have demonstrated exceptional operational performance through process optimisation, asset reliability, cost efficiency, sustainability and continuous improvement.

The 2026 NOG Energy Week, held from July 5 to 9, brought together policymakers, regulators, investors, technology providers and energy industry leaders from across Africa and beyond to discuss strategies for unlocking the continent’s energy potential.

NLNG maintained a strong presence throughout the conference, participating in strategic sessions on gas development, operational excellence, sustainability, innovation and Nigeria’s growing role in strengthening global energy security.

The company said the award reflects years of consistent investment in operational discipline, robust asset management and a strong safety culture, which have enabled it to maintain reliable LNG production while meeting international standards.

The recognition comes at a critical phase in NLNG’s growth strategy as construction of the Train 7 Project gathers momentum.
