UN creation of sovereign state from Adamawa,Cameroun, others, false-Kalu

The recent news making the rounds  that Nigeria  will lose 24 local councils to new sovereign state to be created by the United Nations(UN) from Adamawa state, Nigeria, Cameron and others has been described as false and baseless.

The report which has dominated the social  media space has it that the declaration of the new United Nations Organisation (UNO) state to be called ‘Ambazonia Republic’ will affect Jada Local Government Area of Adamawa State, the home town of Atiku Abubakar, Borno state and part of Cameroun.

Reacting, to the news, the Director-General, Global Initiative for God Governance(GIGG), Dr Emeka Kalu in a release made available to nation update online said the information was nothing but fake news as there has not been any time such conclusion was reached at between Nigeria, the United Nation and any other country.

Kalu asked Nigerians to disregard the information as handiwork of rumour mongers, saying that Nigeria still remains one indivisible entity earnestly yawning for good governance.

The  statement reads in part, ” Our attention has been drawn to a fake news making the rounds that Nigeria will be losing 24 Councils to a new State/Nation that will be carved out of Cameroon.

” We also understand that the peddlers of this wrong information are also insinuating that some parts of Adamawa will be carved out too, which they conclude will make some Nigerians to automatically belong to a new country altogether.

“This rebuttal is to categorically dismiss this concoction as mere rumour as there has not been any such arrangements or any such conclusion between Nigeria, the United Nation and/or any other body.

“The rumour that Bama, Gwoza, Dikwa, Kala/Balge, Ngala councils and others will be ceded to the UNO State of Cameroon is a campaign to smear and cook confusion and therefore should be ignored by every Nigerian. Nigeria remains one indivisible entity in need of the best leaders that will harness and turn her fortunes around,”Kalu said

Report making the rounds further has it that UN will recognize the sovereignty of the new Republic of Ambazonia on July 10, 2020.

Some of the local government areas affected in Nigeria according  to the report are, 5 LGAs from Borno State, 7 from Taraba State and 12 from Adamawa which include Bama, Gwoza, Ngala, Kala/Balge, Dikwa. Others include Madagali, Michika, Mubi North, Mubi South, Mayo/Belwa, Toungo,
Ganye, Serti, Hong, Jada, Maiha and Jada councils.
