MWUN wraps up dockworkers district elections, members praise Comrade Bunu for fair play

The Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN), has concluded dockworkers district elections in outstations

The election held in the Eastern Port Districts comprising of Delta Port and Julius Berger Districts, all in Warri, Delta State was adjudged fair and free.

The union commended the Comrade Francis Bunu Abi, led executive for championing this feat.

In an e-signed release by comrade John Kennedy Ikemefuna, Head of Media, MWUN stated that principal executives elected are as follows: DELTA PORT DISTRICT: with Comrades Gabriel Koma as Chairman, Charles Avwata as Vice-chairman,  Paul Bolomu as Secretary,  Monday Aiyanyor as Assistant Secretary, Laju Atune as Treasurer and Julius Norah as Special Female Representative, Sunday Sesi as NEC member, with other appointed officers numbering 24.

JULIUS BERGER: has Comrades Samson Pere as Chairman, Edemayibo Ormireju as Vice-chairman, Kenneth Atagan as Secretary,  Jude Abilabor as Assistant Secretary, Orugboh Edonmi as Treasurer, Anuchie Collins as NEC member, Ebuwa Isibor aa Special Female Representative with other appointed members numbering 13.

CALABAR DISTRICT has its executive as Comrades Maurice Edet as Chairman,  Uweh Ekpo asVice Chairman, Joseph Rkpe as Secretary, Bassey Ekpeyong as Asst Secretary,  Akpan Joshua as Treasurer, Bassey Asuquo Etim as NEC member, Margaret Ebiti Peter as Special Female Representative with other appointed members numbering 15.

CENTRAL POOL DISTRICT has Comrades John Ebobo as Chairman, Amoo Bobola as Vice Chairman, Aniete Akpan as Secretary, Cyril Akpan as Asst Secretary,  Godwin Acha as Treasurer, Stephen Dad as NEC member; Janet Okoro – Special Female Rep; with other appointed members numbering to 18.

FLT DISTRICT: Comrades Friday Ajilo as Chairman, Asitonka Tende as Vice Chairman, Gershon Abraham as Secretary; Patrick Chinda as Assistant Secretary, Zobari Nnodee as Treasurer, Lawrence Kalaiyo asNEC member; Alou Ochu – Special Female Rep; with other appointed members numbering to 17.

FOT DISTRICT: Comrades Adams Majesty as Chairman, Jackson Osarobey as Vice Chairman, Dokuboye Bob Manuel as Secretary, Osarobey David as Assistant Secretary,  Timothy Egele as Treasurer, Prince David – NEC member; Modesta Uzoagba – Special Female Represntative with other appointed members numbering 16.

OMT DISTRICT: Comrades Anyomi Joseph as Chairman; Fyne Anabs as Vice Chairman, Gift Iwaritaribi as Secretary; Timothy Egele as Assistant Secretary, Cletus Enyia as Treasurer, Monday Penury NEC member,  Blessing Nwankwo as Special Female Rep with other appointed members numbering 14.

INTELS DISTRICT: Ohaka Nwabueze as Chairman; Timothy Inetianbor as Vice Chairman, Freddie Jack as Secretary; Iheanyichukwu Emmanuel as Assistant Secretary, Offong Amanam as Treasurer Daniel Akpiri as NEC member, Pearl Owatogbe Egbe as Special Female Representative with other appointed members numbering 12.

PORTHARCOURT DISTRICT ONE: Comrades Gwuene Nkabono – Chairman; Chukwudi Asoguh as Vice Chairman; Abdulmalik Haruna as Secretary; Tamunokuro Dagogo as Asst Secretary, Iminabo Amachree as Treasurer; Tajudeen Owolabi as NEC member; Beatrice Ifeanyi as Special Female Representative with other appointed members numbering 16.

PORTHARCOURT DISTRICT TWO: Comrades Ebitenga Soye Perri as Chairman, Tonye Phillips as Vice Chairman, Oyika Amos as Secretary, Abiye Dokubo as Assistant Secretary; Minabiye Dauphin as Treasurer, Isaac Evinson as NEC member, Precious Oghu as Special Female Representative,with other appointed members numbering 16.

BONNY DISTRICT: Comrades Daddy Weeks as Chairman, Dappa Ajaladeg as Vice Chairman; Alex Onwuka as Secretary, Ekandem Michael Virtus as Assistant Secretary, Cunningham Green as Treasurer, Beauty Don Pedro – Special Female Representative, Ezekiel Thomas as NEC member, with other appointed members numbering  13.

The President-General Comrade Bunu has since congratulated all the elected executives and the appointed officers of the Districts. The Ijaw born fierce Labour Activist admonished all the officers to be of good conduct in performing their official duties always, reminding them that the time of playing double standards in the Union had since elapsed and that there’s a “New Sheriff” in the Union; therefore, every comrade, whether elected, appointed or just a member must play to the rules of the Constitution to avoid being sanctioned.

MWUN PG, Comrade Bunu congratulated new executives, warns: “Play by the rules, no double standards. New Sheriff in Union now”.

He also promised the newly elected officials of the full support of the Union in all ramifications but would not hesitate to deal decisively with any earring ones where found wanting.

The MWUN PG thanked all the executives of the Dockworkers Branch, particularly its articulate President, Comrade Agboola Bolaji, whose comportment during the election all through was commendable.

Comrade Bunu also assures that the remaining District elections will follow suite as no contesting member would be shortchanged in any form or guise, but warned that the newly elected executives must go to work immediately after being sworn in accordingly.

The newly elected executives of the districts thanked Comrade Bunu, and the leadership of the Union for their openness, fairness, and Justice in the entire process of all the Districts elections, praising the MWUN PG for his uprightness and straightforwardness in all the elections and appointments of officials, saying they won’t disappoint in their various designations as elected.
