Mopamuro LGA presents over N7bn budget, targets security, infrastructure, growth

Mopamuro Local Government Area(LGA), Executive Chairman, Hon. Ademola Bello has presented N7.082bn budget for 2026, prioritising security, infrastructure, social development and economic growth.

The budget tagged “Budget of Hope and Prosperity” was presented to the council legislatures for consideration and approval, it aims to improve the living standard of Mopamuro residents, youth and women empowerment.

Bello highlighted key allocations: Personnel cost (N1,787,947,930), overhead cost (N1,814,297,570), and capital project (N3,480,625,440).

He assured citizens of his administration’s commitment to prioritising their welfare, ensuring timely payment of salaries, and enhancing the overall quality of life.

The budget target key areas, including:

Infrastructure Development: Upgrading roads, markets, and public facilities. Social Development: Enhancing education, healthcare, and social services, Economic Growth: Empowering youth and women, promoting entrepreneurship, and attracting investments and Security: Strengthening local security architecture to ensure a safe environment.

The Legislative Council Leader, Rt. Hon. Odunayo Olupeka, pledged the council’s support for the budget’s successful implementation, promising thorough oversight and transparency.

Bello reassured residents of his commitment to neutralising criminal activities and urged citizens to join hands with his administration to make Mopamuro an exemplary local government.

The Chairman praised Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his outstanding achievements and support in strengthening local government security architecture.

The budget presentation underscores Hon. Bello’s vision for a prosperous Mopamuro, where citizens thrive in a secure, economically vibrant environment.
