Alhaji Abubakar Bello has assumed office as the Manager, Tincan Island Port Complex of the Nigerian Ports Authority.
Bello who assumed office at the Complex two weeks ago took over from Umar Abubakar Garba who has been redeployed to NPA headquarters in Marina, Lagos.
Abubakar was the former Traffic Manager at the Kirikiri Lighter Terminal (KLT) before his deployment to Tin Can Island Port.
On assumption of duty at his new office, he has since commenced engagement with relevant stakeholders on how to tackle myriad of problems at the corridor.

Oshodi -Appeal traffic jam
Speaking with newsmen on Wednesday, he disclosed that a new taskforce team has been constituted to address issues bothering on traffic along the port access road.
According to him, the construction along the corridors have affected the channel linking the port and the lagoon.
He noted that management has been able to engage the contractors handling the road construction to unblock some of the channels they blocked that led to flooding of the inward roads.
Bello lauded the efforts of the Traffic Manager and Port Security Officer for efforts at clearing gridlock on the port access roads.
He noted that traffic management requires continuous attention even as he quipped that officials of the port have performed positively at resolving the menace.
His words, “We are engaging stakeholders in the maritime industry which include, ANLCA, Police, truck owners and others to find ways on how make the port conducive for all of us”
