Strike Suspension: CSOs say labour has betrayed Nigerians

Civil society organisations (CSOs) acting on the platform of Joint Action Front (JAF), has taken a swipe on the organised Labour, that for agreeing to suspend the proposed strike, it has betrayed the Nigerian masses.

It went further to say, suspension of the planned strike over recent increase in electricity tariff and petrol pump price was more of a death pill for Nigerians and a betrayal of the masses to IMF and World Bank.

In a very brief and thought provoking speech by JAF Secretary, Abiodun Aremu, it lamented that by agreeing to “suspend the strike that ought to have started this Monday morning, organised labour has accepted deregulation of the downstream of the petroleum industry.

“It is a death pill on workers and poor masses. It is Nigeria for sale to IMF and World Bank.”
