Shippers’ Council boss, Akutah celebrated in Abuja as NSUK marks 25 years of excellence

It was a moment of pride and celebration as Dr. Akutah Pius, MON, Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Shippers Council, was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement and Impact Award by the National Alumni Association of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK).

The award was presented in Abuja during activities marking the university’s 25th anniversary, a landmark event that also celebrated the institution’s founder and former Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, CON.

Serving as Chairman of the occasion, Dr. Akutah underscored the strategic importance of Nasarawa State, noting that its proximity to the Federal Capital Territory and neighbouring states has made NSUK a hub for students from diverse backgrounds.

According to him, the university’s location continues to enhance inclusiveness and broaden access to quality education.

He, however, stressed the need for sustained investment in infrastructure and academic development to further position the institution as a leading centre of learning.

Highlighting recent progress, Dr. Akutah pointed to the commissioning of the university’s Secretariat as a major milestone, describing it as a sign of the institution’s steady growth and commitment to excellence.

He also called on members of the alumni association to play a more active role in supporting the university, particularly in areas of development and capacity building.

Dr. Akutah expressed appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, and the entire academic community for their dedication and contributions to the advancement of the university.

The event drew dignitaries, alumni, and stakeholders from across the country, all gathered to celebrate the achievements and enduring legacy of Nasarawa State University at 25.
