Seme Customs impounds N91.4m worth of Cannabis

The Seme Border Command of the Nigerian Customs Service(NCS) has unmasked 3,186 parcels of cannabis sativa in 41 sacks concealed in sharp sand.

Operatives of goNigeria Customs Service in Seme Border Command have uncovered 3,186 parcels of cannabis sativa in 41 sacks concealed with sharp sand.

Duty paid value of illicit drug is N91,488,977.

The drugs according to the Customs was concealed in a tipper truck.

Customs Area Controller of the command, Mohammed Jibo who commended his officers for the seizure urged them not to relent in their fight against smuggling and other illegalities across the border.

In a statement made available by the Spokesperson of the Seme command, Abdullahi Hussain, Controller Jibo,urging his officers to fight smuggling within the nooks and crannies of the command in whatever legitimate form while advising officers to collaborate with host communnity members for more results.

Jibo also called on members of the public to support and cooperate with the service in it’s revenue collection, trade facilitation, enforcement and implementation of government directives.
