The Lagos Province 38 of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Comforters Assembly, has concluded plans to unveil the new “Tabernacle of Praise” Parish of the Church.
The new Parish envisioned on one of the cardinal thrust of the Church which is to take many souls to Christ is expected to be inaugurated on the 24th of January 2021 at Ijegun Road, Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos.
According to the Cleric in-charge, RCCG Comforters Assembly, Pastor Muyiwa Matilukuro in a statement , said the initiative towards establishing a new parish is based on the 2nd mission of the church – which has to do with soul winning and for millons of people to make heaven.
“The 2nd mission statement of RCCG states that ‘we are to take as many people with us to heaven and also ensure that we have a member of RCCG in every family of all nations’, to achieve this, to accomplish this, we are to plant churches within five minutes walking distance in every city and town of developing countries and within fifteen minutes driving distance in every city and town of developed countries.”
In the words of the Cleric of the 4 years old RCCG Comforters Assembly Parish, Matilukuro, “In obedient to this, RCCG Comforters Assembly is prepared to open a new parish with the name, RCCG Tabernacle of Praise Parish at No.189 Ikotun/ Ijegun Road, Ile- lbadan Bus stop, Ikotun Lagos (Admos filling station).
He called to memory the message in the Book of Psalm 27: 5 where its stated, “For in the time of trouble, He shall hide me in His pavilion; in the secret place of His tabernacle, He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock”
Pastor Matilukuro went on to say, “Our Goal is to build a church where friendship, trust, and loyalty are valued firstly in Ikotun and its immediate communities.
“Our aim is to build on the following core values amongst others: Sound teaching of the Word of God; Belief in God and a dedication studying the Bible as His infallible word of life; Giving our time, our talent and our resources to serve the kingdom of God by Faith, Absolute hope, faith, and trust in God.
“Others include: Relationship with God and Man; Know who you are in Christ and living it; Equal Opportunity for all and; Respect to every culture and gender.
The church the Cleric said was committed to communicating and teaching timeless and undiluted truth of the wisdom of God and the new life in Christ through contemporary, creative, and culturally relevant means attractive to a post-modern generation of seekers.
He further stated, “Lastly, we recognise the reality that most people come to and mature in Christ over time. Therefore, we respect and encourage this growth process by demonstrating understanding and extending grace to everyone on their way to leadership.
