Prices of data to come down by 40%

The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Ibrahim Pantami has given an assurance that the prices of data and telecommunication services are expected to crash by 40 per cent.
The minister stated that this has become necessary Following positive steps so far taken by the Federal Government to attract huge local and foreign investments into the telecommunication industry.

The government the Pantami said has addressed two critical challenges in the telecommunications industry, particularly Right of Way (RoW) Charges and infrastructural protection and development.
The minister stated while declaring open a week-long training programme organised by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) for ICT/Telecomm reporters in Abuja.
The need for data reduction has been in the lips of many Nigerians especially since the advent of coronavirus and now meetings are encouraged to go virtual.
