JournalNG takes top honors as Best Maritime Magazine at awards ceremony

JournalNG, a leading Nigerian publication, has been awarded the Best Maritime Magazine Award by the Association of Maritime Journalists of Nigeria (AMJON) for its exceptional content quality, innovative design, and commitment to bridging information gaps in the maritime industry.

The award, presented on Friday July 18, 2025, at the Annual AMJON Conference at Sheraton Hotel, Lagos, recognizes JournalNG’s consistency as a bi-weekly publication and its efforts to bridge information gaps among maritime stakeholders.

The award was received by the publisher of JournalNG, Ismail Aniemu, for the media outfit’s exceptional content quality, innovative design, and commitment to bridging information gaps in the maritime industry.

In a letter of nomination jointly signed by Kelvin Kagbare, AMJON President; Segun Oladipupo, Secretary and Paul Ogbuokiri, Chairman Planning Committee, the publication was chosen for standing out and being credible.

AMJON further described the magazine as dependable resource and reference publication with exceptional content quality; engaging readership with well-researched and insightful articles that resonate with the maritime stakeholders

At the pre award citation, the magazine’s growing digital Innovation, engaging readership, and well-researched articles, consistent usage of illustrations like entertaining cartoons, multimedia integration and it’s exceptional deployment of imagery/ infographics to complement content were lauded by Ugo Ezurike, Publisher, Nation Update.

In a release signed by Elizabeth Toyon for the JournalNG, the publisher Aniemu, while receiving the award expressed gratitude for the honor, dedicating the award to his team for their contributions to maritime reporting and commitment to journalism as a profession and social service.
