Eid-el-Kabir: Idimogu greets Muslim Ummah, appeals for peaceful coexistence among Nigerians

A former member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Jude Chukwuemeka Idimogu, has felicitated Muslim faithful on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration, urging Nigerians to embrace peace, sacrifice, and unity for the progress of the country.

In his Sallah message to the Muslim Ummah, Idimogu described Eid-el-Kabir as one of the most significant festivals in Islam, commemorating the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son in obedience to the command of Allah.

The former lawmaker called on Muslims to reflect on the virtues of faith, obedience, love, and sacrifice exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim and Prophet Muhammad.

According to him, the season presents another opportunity for Nigerians to pray for the peace, stability, and development of the country, especially at a time the nation is facing economic and security challenges.

Idimogu urged Nigerians not to lose hope but to continue supporting the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in its efforts to reposition the country through the Renewed Hope Agenda.

He expressed optimism that the present administration remains committed to improving the socio-economic condition of the nation and restoring confidence in governance.

The former legislator also appealed to Muslims and Nigerians generally to continue promoting peaceful coexistence, mutual understanding, and tolerance among people of different religious and ethnic backgrounds.

He said the teachings of Prophet Muhammad emphasise love, compassion, and peaceful living, adding that Nigerians must continue to uphold those values in their daily interactions.

“Muslims should continue to live exemplary lives by demonstrating love, sacrifice, faith, and compassion as taught by Prophet Muhammad,” he stated.

Idimogu further appealed to residents of Lagos to maintain peace, harmony, and unity during and after the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.

He also encouraged citizens to use the festive period to pray for the country’s leaders and seek divine intervention for national progress, economic recovery, and lasting peace.

The former lawmaker wished Muslim faithful a peaceful and fulfilling Eid-el-Kabir celebration and prayed for continued unity and prosperity across Nigeria.
