Edo youths unite against godfatherism, purchase party form for Obaseki

Youths of Edo State on Wednesday rose against politics of godfatherism playing out in the state. To this end, they have taken a decisive step, as they have made purchase of expression of interest form of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the state governor, Godwin Obaseki.

The youths who stormed the National Headquarters of the party also purchased nomination forms for the embattled governor insisting that the idea of calling the shot from behind in Edo governance is unacceptable.

Briefing reporters, Leader of the group, Mr. Smith Osazele Akaya said the attempt by Adams Oshiomhole to return godfatherism into Edo politics was a bad omen at this time, stating that the the governor has done well in the last four years, as such deserves a second term to complete his laudable programmes for Edo people.

Akaya said the decision was taken after due consultation, He said, “We know what the Africa Democratic Congress (ADC) represents and we are optimistic that Godwin Obaseki will win the governorship election on this platform.

Receiving the youths, the National Chairman of ADC, represented by his Special Assistant, Mr. Nzekwesi Samuel Emema praised the youths for making the wisest choice.

He said the ADC is a party whose ownership is the people, hence, all decisions emanates from the people, deviod of godfatherism
