Edo APC Primary: Uzodimma advised to make fervent prayers with family before coming

Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, has been advised  not to think Edo to be Imo state, he should fervent make his last prayer with his wives and children before stepping into the state. 

Uzodimma will be in the state having been appointed by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to lead the newly constituted Governorship Primary Election Committee for Edo state APC.

In a tersely written statement by a former Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Kabiru Adjoto, it warned Uzodimma that the people of Edo will resist him from entering the state.

That if he perhaps yields to pressure and insists on coming, he should dully handover to his deputy before coming.

“Hope Uzodinma should hand over to his deputy before coming to Edo. He should think twice before embarking on a journey that may negatively affect him for life. Edo is not Imo.

“We shall resist him and stop him from entering Edo”.

“He should pray with his wives and children before leaving Imo. He should be ready to eat as lunch uncooked vulture eggs while in Edo,” Adjoto stated.

Also on Friday, the Imo State Chief Security Officer received another warning from the APC Edo State Chairman, Anslem Ojezua, to steer clear from the state over the same June 22 governorship primary.

In statement signed and made available to journalists in Benin city, Ojezua, who is the factional chairman of the party in the state insisted that the process that brought Uzodimma into the said assignment was questionable, that inauguration of his committee was done in the midst of controversy, as such would not be accepted.

He said, “Our attention has been drawn to reports that a primary election committee has been inaugurated by the Hilliard Eta led faction of the National working committee of our party to conduct party primaries in Edo.

“This purported inauguration is reported to have been done while a controversy is raging as to the proper officer to take over from Adams Oshiomhole, the suspended national Chairman.”

Ojezua went further to say, “We have on good authority that Victor Giadom, the acting National Secretary has been empowered by the FCT high court in Abuja to act in that capacity.

“Besides, we have reservations with the entire process from the beginning because the National working committee has not first obtained the approval of the National Executive Committee of our party.

“In the light of the above, we have no option than to reject the Uzodinma led committee and cannot subscribe to it’s directive.”
