The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has released the final list of successful candidates for appointment into the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Customs II (ASC II) in the 2024/2025 recruitment exercise, urging applicants to comply strictly with all documentation requirements and timelines to avoid disqualification.
The Service said the publication of the final list marks the beginning of the last phase of the recruitment process, which includes medical verification, acceptance of provisional offers and subsequent physical screening before successful candidates commence training.

In a statement issued by the National Public Relations Officer, Deputy Comptroller of Customs Abdullahi Maiwada, candidates were advised to check their recruitment status on the official Nigeria Customs Service website as well as selected national newspapers.
According to the statement, successful applicants will also receive notifications through their registered email addresses and SMS, containing instructions on the next stage of the recruitment exercise.

Maiwada disclosed that the online portal for uploading Medical Certificates of Fitness obtained from government-recognised hospitals will be activated on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.
He explained that all successful candidates are expected to log on to the recruitment portal using their National Identification Number (NIN) or registered email address to upload the required medical certificate within one week of the portal’s activation.
The spokesman further directed candidates to update their current state of residence on the portal and formally accept their provisional offers by clicking the ” Accept Offer” button.
He added that candidates who complete the process successfully would subsequently receive their Trainee Identification Numbers within one week, after which details of documentation, physical screening, venues and reporting dates would be communicated through official channels.

The Service, however, warned that failure to comply with any of the outlined procedures or meet the stipulated deadlines would attract sanctions, including disqualification from the recruitment exercise and forfeiture of the provisional offer of appointment.
“The Nigeria Customs Service advises all successful candidates to adhere strictly to the outlined procedures and timelines to ensure a seamless completion of the recruitment process,” the statement said.
On behalf of the Nigeria Customs Service Board, the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, congratulated the successful candidates on their success, describing their selection as the beginning of a career founded on professionalism, integrity and service to the nation.
The recruitment exercise forms part of the Service’s broader manpower development strategy aimed at strengthening its workforce to support ongoing customs modernisation, trade facilitation, border security, anti-smuggling operations and revenue generation.

The exercise also reflects the Nigeria Customs Service’s commitment to maintaining a transparent and merit-based recruitment process while building the institutional capacity required to meet the evolving demands of customs administration in Nigeria.
