The resumed Nigerian Customs Service electronic auction bidding platform for seized vehicles and other items, has produced 174 successful winners out of the 6,938 persons that bidded in the first round of the exercise.
The first batch of the resumed bidding process that started last Monday at 12 noon ended on Wednesday 12noon with 198 vehicles being uploaded.

In a release, the Spokesman for the Nigerian Customs, Deputy Comptroller (DC) Joseph Attah stated that the winners emerged within 48 hours when the portal was opened for the exercise.
The winners represents 2.5 percent of the total number of bidders in the first round of the exercise.
The spokesman however did not state when the second round would commence.
But in the release, Attah said; “Following the resumption of Nigeria Customs Service e- auction process, the first batch which started on monday 12 noon, ended yesterday Wednesday, 12noon.
“The first 48 hours bidding period had 198 vehicles uploaded. 6,938 persons participated (bidded) with 174 emerging as winners.
The winners have five days to make payments and 14 days from the day of payment to proceed and take possession of their own items or forfeit them.
“Failure to pay within five days will lead to revocation of the item and deactivation of the defaulter’s TIN from further participation in the NCS e-auction process.
“The e-auction platform app.trade.gov.ng/eauction will continue to be opened for 48 hours to interested bidders weekly.It provides equal opportunities to all Nigerians irrespective of status, tribe or religion.
“NCS wishes to assure the public of its determination to maximize the potentials of technology to serve Nigerians better” Attah said.
