The Association of Maritime Journalists of Nigeria (AMJON) The Association of Maritime Journalists of Nigeria (AMJON) has congratulated the Controller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, on his election as the Chairperson of the World Customs Organisation (WCO), praising his exceptional leadership and visionary approach to customs administration.
Affirming that his election demonstrates the country’s growing influence in global affairs which is nothing short of proud moment for Nigeria and the maritime community.

In a release signed by Kelvin Kagbare, President of AMJON, stated that the CG Adeniyi’s election is a testament to his two years of exceptional, purposeful, impactful and dedicated leadership to the Nigeria Customs Service.
The release partly stated, “Indeed, your election accentuates your outstanding achievements and visionary leadership as a career Customs officer who rose through the ranks, spent greater part of your career as the image maker of NCS.
AMJON while reeling Adeniyi’s outstanding achievements within his short time in office to include: achievement of astronomical revenue generation, improved staff welfare, and strengthening the country’s border security.
