Customs CG appoints new management team as officers retire

Given that some officers who are members of the management team of Nigeria Customs Service(NCS),have statutorily retired, the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, has approved the appointment of some officers into key management positions in acting capacity.

Comptroller Adeniyi hinted that the redeployment would enhance strategic service delivery.
In a statement on Friday by the National Public Relations Officer of the service, Abdullahi Maiwada made available to Nation Update listed the newly promoted officers.
According to the release, BM Jibo has been appointed as the Deputy Comptroller-General in charge of finance administration and technical services.

“OA Alajogun, acting DCG enforcement, inspection and investigation; IG Umar, acting ACG headquarters; OA Salefu, acting Assistant Comptroller-General, training and doctrine command; BA Makinde, acting ACG, human resource development; Timi Bomodi, acting ACG enforcement, inspection and investigation,” Adeniyi explained.

The CGC added that the appointments were a testament to the officers’ exemplary services and dedication to the NCS.

“The service remains committed to providing strategic leadership to ensure effective and efficient service delivery for optimum performance,” he added

While thanking the retired members of the management for their meritorious services, Adeniyi charged the newly appointed officers to redouble their efforts to ensure that the NCS achieves greater heights in its mandates of revenue generation, suppression of smuggling, and trade facilitation.
