Council for Arts D-G honoured

For his patriotic zeal  towards the containment of the novel coronavirus in Nigeria, the Director-General of the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC), Otunba Segun Runsewe has been decorated, ‘Sococovid Ambassador’.

Speaking during the decoration, the National Coordinator, Society Committee Against Covid-19 (SOCOCOVID) Dr. Kenneth Ibe Kalu said that the  agency has  recognized the role and immense support Otunba Runsewe has used culture in the sensitization of Nigerians on the need to contain the spread of coronavirus.

He stated that he has complemented the efforts of the Presidential task Force on Covid-19, National Center for Disease Control and the combine efforts of both Non-Governmental Organizations and the private sector during this period of the novel global Coronavirus  pandemic in no small measure.

Responding, Runsewe who is also the President of World Crafts Council, African Region,
congratulated the organizers for thinking outside the box to undertake such a huge commitment to have a compilation for the Nigerians of today and for generations yet unborn.

He tasked the agency to do all within their reach to help government stem the tide of the virus that has killed so many people in the world today, maintained that the curve can only be flattened when all hands are joined together.  He used the occasion to sign the National Covid-19 Support Register, a signature of Care and Hope.
