Coronavirus : Over $ 55bn loss in travel, tourism hits Africa as most airlines may not survive

The African Union Commission for Infrastructure and Energy has said countries in the continent have lost almost $55 billion in travel and tourism revenues in three months due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The airline industry according to Amani Abou-Zeid, Commissioner for Infrastructure and Energy at the African Union Commission (AUC) said it Will be greatly impacted, as some airlines in the continent will not make it post-COVID-19.

There is great fear of what becomes of the Africa’s healthcare system as the pandemic continues to spike in the continent.
