BUA: Sugar Council Suspension Letter
The National Sugar Development Council(NSDC), said it has suspended the BUA International Sugar refinery from enjoying tariff concession on Presidential Raw Sugar Import Allocation.
In a letter to BUA signed by Latif Busari, Executive Secretary of NSDC, titled “BUA Sugar Refinaries: Suspension of Previledge to Enjoy Tariff Concession on Presidential Raw Sugar Import Allocation”.
NSDC said BUA has not shown sufficient commitment to the implementation of the federal government’s Backward Integration Plan(BIP) it signed- off with government.
It said the agreement was to justify the raw sugar Import quality granted to it by the Nigerian President in which the company has failed to meet their goals and target.
