British govt states position on Kanu’s arrest location

The pronouncement of the Nigeria Attorney General and Ministry of Justice, Abubakar Mallami at a press conference last Tuesday on the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu has elicited reactions on whether British government sold him out.

The British High Commission has however revealed that Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), was not arrested in the United kingdom.

Spokesperson of the British High Commission, Dean Hurlock, while confirming Kanu’s arrest said he was not picked up in the UK where he is based.

The concern became rife owing to the statement by the Attorney General that never came with clearer explanation on how and where he was arrested.

Some analysts have claimed Nigeria couldn’t have extradited Kanu from UK to Nigeria with without going to Court.

They further stated that even when they do, he still has window of appeal in appellate Court in the UK.
