Be firm in enforcement of transportation guidelines amidst coronavirus

Officers and men of the Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC), have been charged to be strict in the enforcement of the new Transportation Guidelines released to aid in the fight against the deadly global coronavirus.

The Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong made the call while at the headquarters of the FRSC Abuja as a guest at the decoration of Hygenus Fuomsuk and his colleague, Samuel Obayemi
to their new rank of Deputy Corps Marshal (DCM).

Lalong tasked the FRSC to sustain its performances in the fight against the dreaded novel COVID-19 through the enforcement of transportation guidelines stipulated to guide movement of people this period.

He assured his administration’s commitment to the development of transport infrastructure, and assured for early completion of the FRSC Training School, Shendam, Plateau State to ensure that the personnel have a conducive environment for manpower development.

Lalong, who participated in the decoration of Fuomsuk to his new rank expressed his delight for being part of the ceremony, he described the new DCM as a committed and dedicated officer that has given his best over the years to the service of his fatherland

The governor stated that, “an elevation like this is an opportunity to serve Nigeria and be patriotic. Although your appointment is to represent the North Central Zone in the FRSC, you should look beyond that zone to serve with dignity and treat everyone with respect irrespective of where they come from. Nigeria is your first constituency”.

Welcoming the governor, the Corps Marshal, FRSC, Boboye Oyeyemi said the promotion of DCM Fuomsuk and others were well deserved and merited because of their track record of loyalty and dedication to duty.

Oyeyemi, commended Lalong for his unwavering support to the FRSC, particularly his recent intervention to the completion of the FRSC Training School in Shendam billed to be completed before the year comes to an end.
