APC NWC dissolution: Giadom declares stand

The former factional Ag. National Chairman  of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Victor Giadom, has stated his position following  the dissolution of the National Working Committee (NWC), of the  party on Thursday.

Giadom who had the emergency National Executive Council (NEC), meeting held at his instance said he stands by the collective interest of the party and by extension the NEC of the party, that there was no Victor, no vanquish.

The meeting which had the President Muhammadu Buhari, leaders of the National Assembly and some governors in attendance but with the embattled national Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole and the National leader of the party, Ahmed Bola Tinubu absent.

The council appointed the Governor of Yobe State, Malam Mai Buni, a former Secretary of the party as the Caretaker National Chairman and Senator John Akpanudoede as Secretary.

The dissolution of the NWC  was part of the recommendations of the president that where all adopted By the house.

Giadom in series of twitts said, “My Take on the outcome of today’s APC NEC meeting: I had earlier said that the collective decision of the entire NEC will prevail in today’s meeting. I also promised to stand by any decision made.

“The NEC meeting adopted all the recommendations by President Buhari, and appointed the Governor of Yobe State, Mallam Mai Buni, as Caretaker National Chairman, while Senator John Akpanudoede was designated Caretaker National Secretary.

“Finally there is No Victor, No Vanquished. The Togetherness and cohesion Of Our Great Party Has Always Been Our Prayer,” he said.

The meeting may have achieved one of the purpose for which  Gaidom conveyed it which was to quash the lingering crisis rocking the NWC, against all permutations, but he however lost his leadership of the party which came to an abrupt end with the meeting.
