COVID-19: ANCLA dialogues NPA on presidential directive

The Association of Nigeria Licenced Customs Agents (ANLCA), has assured it’s  member and their publics that negotiations are on-going with the Nigerian Ports Authority(NPA), on how best to build seamless operations within the two weeks lockdown directed by the President.

In a release made available to nationupdate.com.ng on Sunday, the National President of ANCLA, Iju Tony Nwabunike  said the discussion becomes necessary following the directive of President Mohammed Buhari, that seaports will remain operational.

“In line with the latest directive of the President of the Federal of Nigeria, H.E. Mohammed Buhari, GCFR, in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, directing the seaports to remain operational in order to continue to handle essential cargo, even during the 14-day lockdown order in Lagos, commencing at 11pm on Monday, March 30, 2020;.

“we want to assure you that I am currently in consultation with Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA) top management to receive the approved operational guidelines for this lockdown period. I expect to receive the full guidelines by tomorrow being Monday, 30th of March, 2020.

Nwabunike reiterated his commitment, and that  of his executive towards standing in the gap for its members and the public at this trying moment . He cautioned against defaulting orders from authorities at this point in time.

The ANCLA president further made available phone numbers to contact him with stricktly on SMS or WhatsApp messages as the need arises.
