“Abide by COVID-19 rules for Your Lives”, Archbishop tells Nigerians

Amidst the wide spread scepticism among Nigerians on the reality or otherwise of Coronavirus, the Catholic Archbishop of the Metropolitan See of Lagos, The Most Rev. Dr. Alfred Adewale Martins, has advised Nigerians to adhere to all safety guidelines prescribed by health officials.

The man of God stated this on sunday 21st of June, while delivering his homily at the Holy Cross Cathedral in Lagos while featuring on the Catholic LUMEN Christi Television.

The Prelate said as much as possible, Nigerians should observe the rules and regulations for Coronavirus and stay at home if necessary so as to be safe.

He reiterated the need for citizens to regularly wear their face Mask in public, engage in regular hands washing, maintain social distance, and stay in their homes unless when they have good reasons to go out.

The Archbishop noted that COVID-19 is real and advised Nigerians to jettison the scepticism that the virus does not exist.

He stated that wisdom is of high essence at a season like this, that it behoves on every individual to abide by the law to enable the society win the battle against this global pandemic.

“In deed, today many people say Coronavirus is a scam. Perhaps they have good reason for being so sceptical, but I believe also that it is better to take precautions. Whether the argument holds or not, it is better to presume that Coronavirus is real.”

He stressed that ignorance has no place at the altar of reality, as people who adhere to COVID-19 regulations are protected from being vulnerable to the disease.
