Factional Edo Assembly declares unconstitutional clearance of 5 commissioners

The clearance of five nominees of Governor Godwin Obaseki as civil commissioners and members for the Edo State Oil and Gas Producing Areas Development Commission (EDSOGPADEC) by the members of the Edo State House of Assembly led by Hon. Frank Okiye has condemned by the Hon. Victor Edoror.

The Edoror faction loyal to to former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole otherwise- G-17, at their sitting declared the clearing of the nominees as unconstitutional, arguing that the seven-member of Okiye led group, loyal to the governor who cleared the nominees did not form a quorum.

In the motion under matters of urgent public importance, presented by the member representing Uhunmwonde constituency, Hon. Washington Osifo,
The G-17 declared the clearance of the Commissioners by the factional seven members – G-7, loyal to Governor Godwin Obaseki as unconstitutional.
