Gov Ododo receives accolade for transparent Ekiti APC Primary, submits report

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Usman Ododo, has submitted the report of the Ekiti All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Primary to the National Secretariat.

Ododo while submitting the report on Wednesday praised the party’s consensus approach describing same as transparent and hitch-free, with all legal and procedural requirements followed, he was however extolled as one of the party’s star governors.

Speaking at the short presentation ceremony, Ododo thanked the leadership of the party and President Bola Tinubu for the confidence reposed in him and the Committee.

He hailed the party for adopting the Consensus Mode of Primary, saying the system remains the most peaceful mode.

Receiving the report from the governor, the Deputy National Organising Secretary of the party, Dr. Chidi Duru said the National Chairman and the entire National Working Committee of the party is proud of him for the way he handled the exercise.

He said the Governor remains one of the star Governors of the party for always delivering assignments excellently.

He said the party will always need the Governor for future assignments.

“You’re undoubtedly one of our best Governors and you always deliver. Our party will continue on this path of peaceful nomination of candidates. And where we have a sitting Governor, we will always bank on them to deliver victory.

Dr. Chidi Duru also said the Consensus Mode of Primary is novel, especially when it’s about nominating a Governorship candidate of the party.

The Governor later briefed press men where he expressed appreciation to the President and the National Chairman of the party for the confidence reposed in him.

Recall that the Governor was the Chairman of the Ekiti State APC Primary Committee which supervised the smooth conduct of the consensus primary election on Monday.

Earlier in the day, Governor Ododo paid a visit to the National Assembly to have a short meeting with some Senators from Kogi State and to drum up support for the newly appointed Chief of Army Staff, Major General Waidi Shaibu.
