Gov. Obaseki draged to court for fake Unibadan certificate

The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki has been dragged to court for allegedly forging his University of Ibadan certificate.

In the suit filled against the governor on 29 May, 2020 before a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, the plaintiffs – Edobor Williams, Ugbesia Abudu Godwin and Amedu Dauda Anakhu are accusing him of certificate forgery and perjury.

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Inspector- General of Police (IGP) are all Joined as defendants in the suit.

They are praying the court to determine whether or not the University of Ibadan certificate the governor presented to run for election in 2016 was fake

Governor Obaseki is currently in a fierce battle with his political godfather Adams Oshiomhole who has vowed never to see him return to the Edo State Govenment House for his second and last term.
