AIG Adetutu assumes duty as 20th Maritime Police Command boss

The newly appointed Maritime Police Commander for the Force Headquarters Annex, Lagos, Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG Olofu Adetutu Rhoda has assumed duty, with a passionate call for collaboration, and an assurance for accelerated investigation and prosecution of Maritime cases.

This Amazon, Olofu, who has taken over the helm of affairs at the maritime police Lagos as the 20th Assistant Inspector-General of Police of the command succeeds another woman, now Rtd AIG Susan U. Akem-Horsfall, thereby making her the third female to head the Command.

In a release issued by ASP Ehinmode, A. Rowland Ag Police Public Relations Officer for Maritime Police Command, FHQ Annex, Lagos made available to Nation Update, the AIG has solicited the support, cooperation/collaboration and seamless working relationship between the Maritime Police Command and the Maritime stakeholders.

Olofu who was before her posting the CP Ports Authority Police, Western Ports Command, Apapa, Lagos, promised an open-door policy, synergy among the security agencies, people-friendly policing, fight against crimes and criminalities, and all forms of vices especially on our inland and navigable waterways, ports, harbour and the coastal environment.

AIG Olofu Rhoda hails from Obehira in Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science from the University of Ilorin. She was appointed into the Nigeria Police Force as Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) on 3rd March, 1990 and trained at the prestigious Police Academy Kaduna.

The AIG has served the Nigeria Police Force in different capacities, covering virtually all the Departments of the Force, including Staff Officer Welfare, A’ Department; AC Establishment, Force Secretary Office; DC investment, Department of Logistics and Supply; DC Administration, Department of Training and Development; DC Research and Development; CP Servicom, Department of Research and Planning; CP X-Squad, FCID and CP Ports Authority Police, Western Ports Command, Apapa, Lagos.

Happily married to AIG Tony Adejoh Olofu RTD and blessed with children, she is a member of the International Association of Women Police (IAWP), International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), and the prestigious IBB International Golf and Country Club Abuja.
