Police Commissioner orders for immediate rescue of kidnapped DPO as abductors demand N50m

Following the abduction of the Divisional Police Officer(DPO), in charge of Etsako Central Local Government Area of Edo State, Ibrahim Aliyu lshaq, the state Police Commissioner has ordered his men to move in and rescue him unhurt.

 

The Commissioner, Philip Ogbadu, ordered operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber Crime Unit, the Tactical and Srike Teams of the Command to expedite action on the DPO’s rescue.

 

The DPO was reportedly to have been abducted last Friday by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers.

Report has it that he was driving his private car that fateful Friday evening when he was accosted around Ise River along the old Auchi-Ekperi-Agenebode road.

 

The gun-wielding hoodlums were said to have shot sporadically, forcing his vehicle to a stop, before he was seized ‎and taken into the bush.

Police officers strategizing

His abductors have reportedly established contact as they have asked for a ransom of N50m.

 

Among the residents of Sugar, the administrative headquarters of the LGA, the incident seems to have heightened apprehension.
