Lagos lawmaker extols virtues of late Ndubuisi kanu

A lawmaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon Jude Chukwuemeka Idimogu, has tributed the late former Military Administrator of Lagos State, Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Godwin Kanu for the exemplary life of selflessness he lived.

In a condolence message signed by his SA on media and publicity Mr Henry Uzodimma, Hon Idimogu who is also an Igbo leader in Lagos said let Kanu has etched his name on the sands of time.

The lawmaker who represents Oshodi/Isolo Constituency II, in the State House of Assembly, said, “Ndubuisi Kanu was a perfect gentleman in all standard.”

He there stated that, ” On behalf of the Igbo Community Lagos State, I write to commiserate with the bereaved family over the death of their beloved father and benefactor, late Ndubuisi Godwin Kanu who died after a protracted illness.

“Let me also state categorically how sad and dejected I am to hear the passing away of our mentor and trailblazer who had chiselled his name on marble in this country. Certainly he will be missed by all for the legacies he left behind, especially the family, friends and other well-wishers. I pray for the repose of his soul and may God grant his soul everlasting rest” Idimogu said.

Admiral Kanu who died on Wednesday in Lagos after a protracted illness was aged 77. He was appointed military Governor of Imo and Lagos States in March 1976 to 1977 and 1977 to July 1978 respectively, during the military regime of General Olusegun Obasanjo.

He was the first governor of the old Imo State immediately after the decree that established the state from part of the old East Central State was repealed.
