Kogi governor hails Duro Meseko’s contributions to journalism, politics at 60

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has congratulated Duro Meseko on his 60th birthday, describing him as a committed progressive, accomplished communicator and respected political figure whose contributions to journalism and democratic governance have remained significant.

In a goodwill message signed by the Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, the governor praised Meseko’s legacy in the media industry, noting that he was among the fearless journalists of his generation who helped shape Nigerian journalism through balanced, courageous and people-oriented reporting before transitioning into active politics.

The governor particularly hailed the  Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who is a media guru and one of the distinguished journalists of his generation who helped shape the Nigerian media into a fearless watchdog of society through courageous, balanced, and people-oriented journalism.

According to the governor, Meseko’s transition from journalism into active politics did not diminish his passion for truth, accountability, and public service, noting that his voice has continued to promote progressive ideals and responsible political engagement.

Ododo commended the APC chieftain for his loyalty to the party, his commitment to national development, and his consistent support for the advancement of Kogi State.

“As you attain the age of 60, I celebrate your impactful journey, your immense contributions to the media profession, and your unwavering service to our great party and the nation. Your life remains a source of inspiration to many younger Nigerians in politics and journalism,” the Governor stated.

The governor prayed for continued good health, strength, wisdom, and greater accomplishments for Hon. Meseko in the years ahead.
