Imo govt embarks on beautification through Green Initiate, engages new workers

Imo State Government has revealed that given the numerous international standard projects executed by the administration of His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, the need for beautification of the state has become increasingly necessary.

To this end, the Imo State Environmental Transformation Commission(Imo ENTRACO) has commenced an action plan tagged “Green Imo Initiative” aimed at once more bringing back the state to it’s former glory of – the cleanest state, and to also bring out that beauty which it is known for.

The General Manager of ENTRACO) Engr. Francis Chukwu made the disclosure on Wednesday, in Owerri the State Capital while flagging-off the programme, stated that beautification has become increasingly necessary, hence the timely introduction of the Green Imo Initiative.

He stated that notwithstanding the numerous standard projects executed by the Shared Prosperity Administration of Gov. Uzodimma and many other life changing projects, adhoc workers have been engaged to ensure clearing of grasses in different parts of Owerri the State capital and beyond.
Chukwu noted that the idea is to prevent the presence of snakes, rodents and other harmful animals that pose danger to Imolites within their surroundings.

The Green Imo Initiative action plan he said will among other things commence the planting of trees and flowers in different parts of the state in order to actualize atmospheric serenity, expressed optimism that the Initiative in no distant time, will bring about remarkable environmental transformation in the eastern heartland.
