House Member unvails Centre, assures job opportunities for Lagosians

Unemployed youths in the Lagos State may now heave a sigh of relief as Member, Lagos State House of Assembly representing Oshodi/Isolo constituency 11, Honourable Jude Chukwuemeka Idimogu has reassured commitment by the state to engage the unemployed graduates into meaningful activities

He stated this during the unveiling of the Victory Garden Centre, Okota in Oshodi/Isolo LGA, Lagos state, a hospitality business venture that would serve for the relaxation of people as well as creating employment opportunities for people living in the area.

With Igbo leaders at the presentation and recognition of Hon Idimogu as Igbo Apex leader in Lagos

Idimogu who is also the Apex Leader in Igbo APC and Committee Chairman Wealth Creation and Employment, Lagos State said the Ministry of Wealth Creation had concluded on embarking on what’s called Graduate Intensive Trainee that’s expected to absorb about 2000 graduates in the state.

According to him, the scheme is for those that had graduated and had served but unemployed. The training the Apex Leader said would run for about six months while the beneficiaries would be receiving a stipend of about Forty Thousand naira(N40,000) on monthly basis for the stipulated period of time.

“When the lockdown is finally eased off you would have the opportunity to access the numerous employment opportunities created by the state government under the able leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

“When they train you, and make you employable, the consultant and the ministry will fix you in vacancies that will be opening in the state, that’s the idea behind this. I’m aware of the information, and that’s my job to pass it across to you.

“if you have brothers and sisters that are unemployed, pass this information to them,” the House member explained.

Chief Okafor (Chidex)

Chairman of the Victory Garden, Chief Chukwudi Okafor popularly known as Chidex said the hospitality business venture would create employment opportunity for people living in the area adding that so far, over twenty people had already been employed while another round of engagement would soon take place. “We are operating today as time goes on, we will employ more”, Okafor reassured.

On what motivated him to open up the Centre, the Chairman said: “I have love in making people happy, I’m happy that people are here and I’m confident that we will make it because we have God”, when you have God and trust him, he will inspire you, he added.

Okafor expressed the commitment to keep the place clean and decent for the people to feel relaxed every moment of the day adding the Centre had already put in place all the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) safety rules in place as well as adequate security for those that would patronize the recreation Centre among other measures.

While praying for growth of the business venture, Hon Idimogu appealed to users of the business venture to be law abiding citizens, he implored them to report to the appropriate quarters any act of molestation and abuse mated on them.
