A former Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Tourism Ifeanyi Araraume Jnr has moved over to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) from his former party the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The former Commissioner under Governor Rochas Okorocha’s administration is the son of Senator Ifeanyi Araraume, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC,

In a release made available to Nation Update on Wednesday shortly after a local government emergency meeting held at the PDP State Headquarters Owerri, Imo state Ararume said he has resigned his membership of the APC and joined the PDP.

To Ararume Jnr, there’s every need to work together with the party leaders to ensure PDP becomes victorious in the 2023 election.

He said,” Yesterday, I officially joined PDP in my ward and today I proceeded to the LGA.

“Today, I officially joined the PDP in my Ward. In everything I have done, I have tried my best never to be found wanting. I hope it remains so in this new journey.

“My joining PDP was my choice and I believe I’m coming to add value. By the grace of God, we will all work hard for the party to be victorious.

“I will do my best to elevate the party in Isiala Mbano and the state.”

Speaking further on issues relating to his dad Senator Ararume whether he is also defecting to the PDP.

He said, “I can not speak for him. He is a very experienced politician but the treatment he got from the APC was most unfortunate.

On the unfair treatment meted on his father by the leadership of the party, he said some of the positions that came especially the NNPC position would have impacted the state in terms of employment and other opportunities that may have been lost.
