Anambra NSCDC commends Audi for strengthening Corps

The Commandant- General of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC), Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi has been commended for his vision and in strengthening the corps.

The Anambra State Commandant of the NSCDC, Everestus Obiyo said the leadership prowess of the CG had not only strengthened the corps but had also strengthening the Command’s operational efficiency.

Obiyo who stated this at the special new year interactive session for Officers and men of the command at the Command’s Headquarters in Awka used the opportunity to commend them for thier performance in 2021 and thereby chat a new course for 2022 calendar year.

With the fatherly guide of CG Audi, the Anambra Command has witnessed positive impact from its grassroot nature in dealing with the populace essentially through the collection of evidence based intelligence gathering, which manifested in the catalogue of achievements recorded in the last quarter of 2021.

In a release by the Public Relations Officer Anambra NSCDC State Command, DSC Okadigbo Edwin, made available to National Update, Some of the outstanding achievements of the command he stated include the resolution of one hundred cases through the commands alternative dispute resolution mechanism.

It also prosecuted several cases at the Court of competent jurisdiction, apprehension of suspected vandals who engage in illegal transportation and dealings on petroleum products, commissioning of Special Female Squad, routine surveillance patrol and quick response to threats over Agro Allied ventures in the state.

Consequent upon the above, the Commandant tasked Personnel to live above board in the discharge of their constitutional duties in the year 2022 and beyond, saying that officers and men should adhere strictly to paramilitary ethic of discipline. He ordered Area Commanders, and Divisional Officers to henceforth book any Civil Defender who failed to report to duty and transmit to his office for necessary action.

Comdt Obiyo expressed his disappointed with the conduct of some officers and men and warned that punitive measures would be meted out to any personnel going contrary to the condition of service of NSCDC.

“You must refrain from any act of misconduct and treat Ndi Anambra and residents alike with utmost respect and dignity,” he echoed.

The gathering offered officers and men an opportunity to interface with the State Commandant on issues bordering them to enhance their productivity. The meeting ended with a call by the State Commandant urging officers and men not to rest on their oars.
