Insecurity in Anambra: NSCDC zone ‘K’ vows it’s fight to finish against criminality

… Promises to revive zonal Rapid Response Team.

Following the surging spate of insecurity in the country today with growing concern in Anambra State, the Zone ‘K’ Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC) has charged officers of the Anambra State Command to rise to the occasion of ridding the state of all forms criminal activities.

Assistant Commandant General (ACG) Felix Oke, Zone ‘K’ Commandant of NSCDC gave the inspiring remarks while on a tour of the Anambra State Command of the Zone.

Oke charged the officers to redouble their efforts in the fight against crime especially at this time, expressed that nothing short of total loyalty to the leadership of the Corps in the discharge of their duties are expected of them.

Emphasising that Improvement of public safety and security in Anambra State should be topmost in their hearts.

In a release signed by the NSCDC spokesperson Anambra State Command, DSC Okadigbo Edwin, made available to National Update, stated that ACG Oke who was on a familiarisation / Morale boosting tour of formations under the Zone which Anambra is one of them gave the charge at the state command headquarters, Awka.

Oke assured the Officers and Men that with the present Commandant General(CG) of NSCDC , Ahmed Abubakar Audi, PhD, mni, new ideas and discipline are already being injected into the Corps to match it’s status and rating.

Issues relating to stagnation in ranks, promotion allowances, and training are being seriously looked into.

The zonal commander who oversees Anambra and Enugu states under his command emphasised the need for Officers and Men to be diligent, dedicated and be alive to their responsibilities avoiding any form of Misconduct.

Furthermore, the ACG enjoined Officers and Men to work as a team in tackling the present security challenges in the State, promising to revive the Zonal Rapid Response Team.

ACG Oke appealed to the general public and ‘NDI Anambra’ as the host state to support NSCDC and other security agencies in their fight against crimes and criminality especially at this time.

In his remarks, the Anambra State Commandant of the NSCDC, Comdt. Everestus Obiyo JP, expressed his immense gratitude to his ACG for the visit which he said will go a long way to boost the morale of the officers and men of the command.

Obiyo who has recently assumed duty in the command assured of the command’s readiness to flow with the ACG, to tap from his wealth of experiences through which the Zone will stand out among the zones to emulate in the country.

The familiarisation tour has however offered the Zonal Commander an opportunity of meeting and having first- hand information with Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, Heads of Department and Units of the Command.
