Sanwo-Olu, Obasa, Idimogu revalidate membership in APC

The Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr Tayo Ayinde, and the Lagos State House of Assembly Member, representing Oshodi/Isolo constituency 11, Hon. Jude Idimogu among others have revalidated their membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the ongoing registration and reaccreditation exercise in the state.

Earlier, the APC National leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, had performed his revalidation exercise at his Ikeja ward.

The exercise, however, recorded low turnout of willing members across the state on the first day which is scheduled to end on February 25, 2021.

The Lagos state Governor, performed the exercise at his ward (Ward E3) aka “Premier Ward” at St Stephen School Compound, Adeniji Adele Lagos Island, in the morning of Tuesday.

The Governor subsequently received his membership slip from the registration officer at his ward.

Obasa, who also collected his membership slip at his Ward E (005), Agege, expressed the optimism that Lagos would produce the highest number of members of APC at the end of the exercise.

The Speaker of the State House however scored the state government high in the delivery of the dividends of democracy to the people.

He said: “It is like carrying out population census. It is to tell us our strength in each state, local government and ward, and, by extension, the whole nation.

“It will make us be able to say this is the number of our members in each state and this would help to position us ahead of the future elections.

“The success of every party depends on the structure on ground and how far we are able to cover in the political landscape,” Obasa expressed.

Ayinde, had the reaccreditation of his membership at the Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area, (LCDA) at Ward B, Ikeja GRA, Lagos, while, Lola Akande, state Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives, also revalidated her membership of APC.

In the same development, Idimogu said that the reaccreditation and registration exercise of the All Progressives Congress (APC) would strengthen democracy and good governance in the country.

Idimogu who is also the House Committee Chairman on Wealth Creation and Employment stated this shortly after he along with his wife Lady Roseline revalidated their membership of the party at Ilamoshe Ward, Polling Unit (075), Ilamoshe Estate, Isolo of the Lagos.

He said that the exercise would provide all party members the opportunity to represent themselves at the 2023 general elections.

He however, said that the low turnout of participants on the first day was not an indication that people were not interested in the exercise adding that it is too early to give an assessment on the success or otherwise of the exercise.

He nevertheless reassured that the Igbo community who he noted were mostly business men and women would come out in their numbers to reaccredit and register new membership this time before the end of the exercise especially on weekends.

Meanwhile, Idimogu has urged members and supporters of the party, especially the Igbo community to emulate the National Leader of the party, Bola Ahmed Tinubu who according to him had just revalidated his membership of the party.

The House member however assured party faithfuls of his total support towards the success of the exercise. While advising the people to be orderly, he promised that adequate materials for the exercise would be made available.

Speaking shortly after the revalidation, the Honourable member appealed to old and intending members across the state to participate actively in the exercise.
