Youths drum support for Bello’s presidential bid

A youth group known as Yahaya Bello Solidarity Movement (YBSM) has thrown its weight to the deafening call on the current Kogi state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello to contest the 2023 presidential election.

According to the youth interest group, Governor Bello has all the qualities needed to make Nigeria a great nation, saying that can only happen if given the chance to lead Nigerians in the 2023 general election.

Speaking at a press briefing in Abuja recently, the group’s national coordinator, Comrade Abedo Omeiza, said Governor Bello is an upright man with exemplary leadership qualities needed at this critical time of Nigeria’s nationhood.

According to him, “Nigeria needs a pragmatic and detribalised leader in 2023; a leader who understands the peculiarities and divergence of our nation and is ready to embrace all for inclusive growth and development.”

Comrade Omeiza said  though the state is composed of different ethnic nationalities, yet Governor Bello, through his natural leadership acumen, has unified all under one umbrella devoid of ethnic rivalry, internal wrangling and subjugation.
The group further scored the youthful governor high in the area of security, stating that all the needless killings and wanton destruction of private and public property that used to be the order of the day prior to his administration has been nipped in the bud.

The national coordinator further added that Kogi is one of the most peaceful states in the northern part of the country today and very conducive for investment and business.

The group therefore affirmed its support for Bello’s presidential bid because he is a youth and would represent the interest of the youths when given the mandate.

According to them, the governor has made the issues of youth and women empowerment the centre point of his administration in the state and would surely replicate same at the centre when given the mandate.

Comrade Omeiza further explained that the governor is the first person in the country to have appointed women as deputy local government chairmen in all the area councils of the state.

Omeiza stated, “Bello’s landmark achievements are seen in the areas of agriculture, youths and women empowerment, peace and security, innovation in governance and zero tolerance for corruption. These rare qualities are what he would bring to bear in presiding over the affairs of the nation.”

Another area of interest according to the group is in equity and fairness, it emphasised that the North-central part of the country has never produced the president of Nigeria since creation.

Saying, “Since other geo-political zones have done so, it is only fair that this opportunity is given to the North-central and if this happens, the best candidate is the present governor of Kogi state, who is our sole candidate come 2023.”

The Yahaya Bello Solidarity Movement is a youth interest organisation that is working to ensure the emergence of a youthful president in 2023.

The group said it has zeroed in on the Kogi state governor and is willing to mobilise her members across the world and also resources to actualise the emergence of the youthful Kogi governor as the APC presidential flag-bearer for the 2023 general election.

It could be recalled that the group had recently, appointed Dr Uche Igwe its European coordinator. Dr Igwe, a Nigerian scholar at the prestigious London School of Economics in England.

According to the group, the coordinators for United States of America, Southern Africa and Asia would be appointed within the first quarter of this year.
