Maritime Police boss, Ogbodo visits NIWA, expresses readiness to prioritize waterways security

The Nigerian Police, Maritime Command, Force Headquarters Annex, Obalebde Lagos, has reiterated it’s readiness to foster cordial relationship and Synergy that will engender security on waterways.

The Assistant Inspector General(AIG) of Police in charge of the command, Augustina N. Ogbodo, gave the assurance when she paid a courtesy visit to the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) Area Manager, Engr Sarat Braimoh last Wednesday.

Ogbodo who went on the visit in the company of her management team made up of the Commissioner of Police Maritime Police Command, Emmanuel Agene, and the Assistant commissioner of Police In charge of Operations ACP Odunayo Liasu expressed the command’s determination towards Curbing crimes across the onshore and offshore waterways.

She reiterated her readiness to cooperate with NIWA, her willingness to attend to all pressing issues concerning Nigerian Maritime/ Waterways.

The Area Manager, Engr Sarat Braimoh while receiving the AIG and her team assured of her readiness to work hand- in-hand with the maritime police to promote and sustain safety on the waterways and environs.

Braimoh commended the AIG for finding time to visit the agency despite her busy schedules.

NIWA she expressed would give the needed support to the maritime police to make them serve the public creditably.

Maintained that all agencies in the Maritime industry obviously needs each other to function.
