Waterways security at Eid-El-Fitr: Police AIG directs commissioners to increase deployment, intensified visibility patrols

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG), Maritime Police Command, FHQ Annex, Lagos, AIG Olofu A. Rhoda has directed Commissioners of Police, Eastern and Western Ports Command, National Inland Waterways Police and the Force Marine Officer to increase the deployment of Police assets in their areas of responsibility for regular and intensified visibility patrols that will further guarantee the security and protection of the maritime space.

The AIG stated this in her goodwill message to Muslim community over the successful completion of Ramadan fast.
In a release signed by ASP Ehinmode Rowland Adewumi, Ag. Police Public Relations Officer, Maritime Police Command, Force Headquarters Annex, Lagos, Rhoda however directed the heads of Commands and Formations under the Maritime Police to carry out the directive expeditiously.

The Police boss reassured the entire maritime community of the Maritime Police Command’s zeal and commitment to ensuring continuous safety and security of the nation’s inland waterways, ports corridor, creeks, harbours, port terminals, the riverine communities and other critical infrastructures during this Eid-el fitr celebrations.
The AIG appeals to all Muslim faithful to remember the teachings, sacrifices, love and virtues that the season represents.
“ As we celebrate the end of the Ramadan fast. Let us continue to collaborate to ensure a safe, peaceful and secure environment for all,” the AIG concluded.
