Valentine’s season bliss: group takes hug, love to custodian inmates across Nigeria

 It was a great opportunity to express love and appreciation to inmates of correctional facilities across the country as the Seyi Tinubu Support Initiative kick-started visitation to the six geopolitical zones in the country Tuesday 4 February in the spirit of the fast approaching Valentine’s Day celebration, billed for Feb. 14.

Convener of the group, Hon. Moyosore Adebanjo told newsmen on Monday in an interview was basically to lift the spirits of the inmates and make them feel belonged.

“Come February 4, we shall commence by visiting the Kirikiri Maximum Security Correctional Centre, in the Southwest, as well as those in Ogun and Kuje in Abuja.

“We shall be doing this visit in batches, going from one geopolitical zone to the other.

“We will be celebrating with these persons by paying the options of fines of not less than 100 of them and ensuring their restoration into the society and their family. It is all in the spirit of the Valentine’s Day, which is basically to spread and promote love.

“Mr Seyi Tinubu derives fulfillment from seeing the yearnings and desires of people being met, particularly when it has to do with freedom of people and family values.

“The payment of fines ensures that this inmates are able to reunite with their family members and enjoy freedom once again! That’s what valentines is all about, ‘LOVE’,” he said.

According to him, in recent times, Mr Tinubu has catered for the welfare of the indigent and marginalized.

“ We have paid medical bills for indigent patients, provided learning materials and new uniforms for school children and many more giant strides are in the pipeline across the nation.

“We remain committed in our resolve to seek ways of impacting the citizens positively and give them reasons to remain hopeful for more better things to come in no distant future,” Mr Adebanjo assured.
