Tragic discovery of FRSC officer, daughter’s dead body in herbalist’s den

A shocking and disturbing incident has rocked the nation as the body of a senior Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officer, Funmilayo Oluwamayokun Lasisi, and her teenage daughter, Sewa Lasisi, were found dead with mutilated body parts at a suspected herbalist’s den in Osun State, Nigeria.

The 39-year-old officer, a Superintendent Route Commander, was responsible for overseeing multiple routes and coordinating strategic enforcement operations.

The Disappearance
Lasisi and her daughter went missing on November 2, after leaving their residence at Obasanjo Hilltop Estate, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Despite efforts by family and colleagues to reach them, their mobile phones remained unanswered, sparking widespread concern.

The Discovery
The gruesome discovery was made over the weekend, with a family source revealing that the remains were found at the residence of a traditional healer in an undisclosed community in Osun State. The herbalist’s wife has been arrested, while the main suspect remains at large.

Investigation Underway
The Osun State Police Command has confirmed the incident, stating that investigations are ongoing and some suspects have been arrested. Exhibits suspected to be body parts were recovered at the scene.

A Growing Concern
This tragic incident highlights the growing concern over ritual killings and human trafficking in Nigeria. The discovery of Lasisi and her daughter’s mutilated bodies is not an isolated case, as there have been several reports of missing persons found dead with body parts removed across different states in the country.

The Abeokuta FRSC unit and residents of the victims’ community are in shock, struggling to come to terms with the gruesome discovery. The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, has vowed to pursue every lead to uncover the truth and bring all those directly or indirectly involved in the heinous and despicable act to justice.
